Mileage Allowance Guidance Jan 2008 (2) Colleagues, At last month's NHS Staff Council Executive, the staff side submitted a claim for an interim increase in mileage allowances pending the outcome of the review of mileage allowances which is being carried out by a sub group of the Staff Council. As a consequence the NHS Employers have issued the attached guidance today providing an increase in regular user allowances for cars up to 1000cc and those from 1001 -1500cc with effect from 1st January 2008. These are the only increases covered in the guidance since all other mileage allowances and related issues will be dealt with in the mileage sub group. This guidance applies only to England but the other three countries have been advised of the decision taken by employers in England. Workplace reps should ensure that they work with other union reps through local negotiating arrangements to ensure that employers apply this guidance in full from 1st January.
